Bihar State Government is all set to reopen the schools, colleges, universities, coaching centres today after a gap of more than 9 months. The institutions are strictly instructed to follow the COVID Safety Guidelines.
The state government has provided a detailed set of guidelines and SOPs to be followed during the physical classes. Education Department Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar said that compulsory wearing of masks and social distancing norms will be followed by students and staff members. In the schools only classes 9- 12 will be operating with half of their enrolled strength. Earlier the State Government has instructed the district administrators to distribute two masks per student to all those children from classes 9 -12 belonging to the state board.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar said in the context that “We have published a class-wise enrolment list of each district to assess the number of face masks required at government schools. Based on the enrollment figure of the last academic year, we have estimated that 36,61,942 students are enrolled in Class 9 to 12 across 38 districts. Each student will get two face masks free of cost which implies more than 73 lakh face masks are required for meeting the need.”
Thus, the Bihar State is all set for a new beginning keeping fingers crossed. We might see other states resuming the respective institutes with a capped strength.
