Amidst prevailing pandemic conditions the schools and colleges in the states of Bihar, Puducherry, and two cities of Maharashtra - Pune, and Nagpur are all set to open on the first Monday of this New Year.
The schools in the Union Territory of Puducherry will be opening for classes 1 -12 today after a gap of several months. The Directorate of School Education will be opening the schools from 10.00 am - 01.00 pm today on a trial basis under the strict protocol for COVID-19. The schools will be functioning for the whole day from January 18 with strict adherence to the safety measures for the pandemic.
The state of Bihar is all set to open all its schools, colleges, universities, coaching centers with 50% strength. The schools will be functional for classes 9-12, while the colleges are allowed to call their final year and research students. Under all circumstances, the COVID-19 guidelines and safety measures are a must to be followed.
Schools in Pune and Nagpur will be opening for classes 9 -12 today. However, in some rural parts of Pune, the schools had been functional since November 23, under the strict guidelines by the state directives.
The teachers and school staff will require a negative RT-PCR test report to enter the school premises on day 1 of the school reopening. The PMC has asked the school administrators to adhere to the COVID-19 norms. The personnel entering the school premises will have to go through thermal scanning, cover their faces with masks, carry their own sanitizer bottles, and maintain social distancing compulsorily. Schools may also require to change their seating arrangements to follow the required guidelines.
The educationists all over the country are geared up to fight against the prevailing conditions and provide a safe space for their learners.
