As per the latest notification released by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has, the university has started accepting applications for the January 2021 session. The re-registration process is commenced for all the programmes offered by the university, except for MP, MCA and MBA courses. For these courses, the registration process shall start soon and the date for which will be notified. Students who are interested to pursue the programmes with IGNOU, from January 2021 onwards, can submit their applications on the official website- ignou.samarth.edu.
It is to be noted that the re-registration process is only for those students who were already enrolled in the programme offered by the university. Due to the situation of an ongoing pandemic, the sessions could not start with prior registrations, hence the university has decided to invite applications for re-registration of students to their choice of programmes. In order to clear out any ambiguity regarding this fact, the university has released a statement stating that “Re-registration means registering for next year/semester of a Programme. So, it is applicable only to students enrolled in undergraduate/postgraduate / semester-based programmes of two or three-year duration”.
The Samarth Portal of IGNOU offers a really seamless process of registration for the students. The students who were earlier registered on the old portal have to create a new account in order to map their academic history correctly.
