Amid the widespread confusion and dilemma surrounding the students and parents, a statement from a senior official from CBSE has cleared the air. In an interview to the media channels, the official confirmed that board exams 2021 for class 10th and 12th students will be conducted in the same format as earlier, that is the written format.
Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Director of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in an interview to the leading media portal shared a few important details regarding the board examinations. He confirmed that board exams shall be held in the written format as were held previously, and the news was a huge relief to the restless students and parents, who were speculating that board exams would be held in an online format. With the news, all the rumours about the possibility of online board exams have been ruled out. This is also true and fair because many students do not have enough technology and facilities in order to take up the exams online. Thus, written examinations are the only resort. Students who will be appearing for the board examinations were going restless about the exams amidst the ongoing pandemic situation.
While the examinations will be held just like how they were during the pre-pandemic times, all necessary precautionary protocols will be followed by the board for holding of the exams. Giving details on the exam format, Mr Emmanuel also mentioned that the board is planning to incorporate gradual changes to the composition of the exam papers, and the number of application-based question shall be increased, over a period of time. The CBSE Board has not taken any confirmed decision on the exam schedule yet, but is in regular consultation with the stakeholders and will soon finalize and release the schedule for the board exams.
