Is IAS hard to crack?
The most attempted entrance in India is the IAS entrance, and cracking the same is utterly prestigious. It is challenging to crack IAS but not impossible. Many aspirants have cracked it in the first attempt itself. They need to prepare in a structured manner, take up coaching at a reputed center and need to grow high knowledge regarding the current affairs, and everything related to the syllabus.
Are there age relaxation available for candidates in the IAS entrance?
Yes, there are upper age relaxations provided to the reserved category students. For SC/ST candidates, the period is five years, whereas, for OBC candidates, the figure is 3. Relaxation is provided to other categories as well.
What is the maximum number of attempts to give the IAS entrance?
Any General category student can attempt a maximum of six times to crack the IAS. However, the figures aren't the same with reserved category candidates. Students can visit the website for details.
Why is a medical test conducted post-IAS recruitment?
The shortlisted candidates must undergo a medical exam in the allotted hospitals by UPSC. The medical test is held to assess candidates in their physical fitness—the ones passing this stage.
