SBI PO 2020 Overview
The State Bank of India conducts the State Bank of India Probationary Officers (SBI PO) Exam 2020 annually with a mission to recruit candidates in the public sector bank. The State Bank of India conducts the SBI PO exam in three stages called tiers. The first two tiers are online, and the third tier is the group discussion and a personal interview phase.
The official announcement of the SBI PO exam was expected to be released by April. The novel Coronavirus is now expected to be released in July. For the position of probationary officer, approximately 2000 vacancies are expected to be released.

15th July 2020: The latest update on SBI PO Exam says that the notification will be released very soon, i.e. in between July and August by the State Bank of India. The prelim exam might be in September.

10th July 2020: The dates for the prelims and mains examination will also be released along with the notification itself. The total vacancies will be released soon along with the notification.

15th June 2020: The exam notification will be released by the end of July. The application and examination dates will also be announced as early as possible.

State Bank of India probationary officer job is a private job. The State Bank of India is the largest private banking sector. The Government of India holds the major shares of the SBI. But the employees are still considered as private job holders and not the Government jobholders.

The probation period does exist for the newly appointed SBI probationary officers, which is for 2 years. The probation period may be extended, and it depends on the overall performance of the candidate during the two years of probation.

Number of times a candidate appear for SBI PO Exam?
The number of chances depends on the candidate’s caste. If the candidate belongs to a general category, he/she can appear 4 times. For the candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), the number of chances is 7. There’s no restriction on the number of chances for candidates belonging to SC/ST cases.
What is the eligibility for the SBI PO Exam?
According to the basic eligibility criteria for the SBI PO exam, the candidates shall 21 years plus of age and below 30 years. There's an age relaxation chance for the reserved categories. Age relaxation for OBC, SC/ST is 3, 5 years respectively. The candidate must complete graduation from a university recognized by UGC or an institution. A candidate of a final year or the final semester can also appear for the examination. But, he/she shall provide the proof of completion of the degree. The candidate should be an Indian. if any candidate who fails to adhere to the eligibility criteria laid by the conducting body will not be selected.
