UPSC Statistical Officer and Superintendent Exam Eligibility
Nationality
A Candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
Superintendent:- Degree from a recognized University established or incorporated by or under a Central Act; Provincial Act or a State Act or any institution for higher education deemed to be a University by the Central Government or any other institution or foreign University approved by the Central Government.
Experience: Three years’ experience of proofreading, particularly proofs of Bills, Acts, Ordinances in a Government Press.
Desirable: Degree in Law from a recognized University established or incorporated by or under a Central Act; Provincial Act or a State Act or any institution for higher education deemed to be a University by the Central Government or any other institution or foreign University approved by the Central Government.
Statistical Officer:- Post Graduate Degree in Statistics / Operational Research / Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics or Post Graduate Degree in Economics / Mathematics / Commerce (with Statistics / Quantitative Method / Techniques or Costing and Statistics/Basic Statistics /Business Statistics / Introduction to Statistics etc. as one of subjects /papers in Post Graduation / Graduation level ) of a recognized University.
Experience: One year’s experience of Statistical work involving collection, compilation and interpretation of Statistical data or planning work involving formulation, monitoring and evaluation of plan schemes.
Age Limit
Candidates age should not be more than 30 years.
UPSC Statistical Officer and Superintendent Exam Selection Process
The selection process will be determined by the board, either through the selection process examination or by interview. In cases where selection is made by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by interview, the candidate will have to achieve a minimum level of suitability in their respective category at the Interview stage.
