Nationality - All aspirants must be Indian.
Age - Meghalaya Police has been defining the aspirant's age according to their post.

Age Relaxation -
The following age relaxations are given as per the state government norms

| SC/ST | 5 years |
| OBC | 3 years |
| Sportsmen ST | 10 years |
| Delhi Police Ward | 4 years (only for Male candidates) |
| Sportsmen Open | 5 years |
Candidates who wish to seek age relaxation under the sports quota must note that the certificate must be of recent three years and the issuing sports federation conducting the sports championship should be affiliated with the State/Indian Olympic Association.
Education Qualification - Meghalaya Police has defined the education qualification according to the aspirant's post.

| Commando / Constable Operator (M/F) | Must have passed Class 10th |
| Armed Branch Constable / Battalion Constable / Driver Constable (M) | Must have completed Class 9th |
Meghalaya Police Exam Selection Process
Selection Process of Meghalaya Police - To get selected for Meghalaya Police Jobs, candidates have to go through recruitment.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Written Examination
- Medical Examination
- Interview
Physical Measurements Test (PMT)
- AB/UB Group: 5 km race for male and 3 km race for female candidates
- SF10 Group: 10 km race for SF10 male and 5.5 km race for female candidates
- Follower Group: 5 km race for male will have to be completed in 24 minutes

UBSI Exam Pattern 2020-

- Written examination
- Maximum Marks: 300 marks
- Duration of the examination: 90 + 30 + 60 minutes

For AB Constable Exam Pattern
- Section of the paper: Have only one section.
- Maximum Marks: 150 marks
- Type of questions: Multiple choice or OMR based examination.
SF 10 group Exam Pattern-
1. SF 10 ABSI posts-
- Written examination
- Section of the paper: 3 sections
- Total marks: 200 marks
- Duration of examination: 120 minutes + 75 minutes + 75 minutes

2. SF 10 Commando and other SF 10 posts:
- Written examination (multiple choice/OMR based)
