LIC AAO Syllabus

The central portions asked in the LIC AAO Prelims involve sections of Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. In contrast, the significant areas proposed in the Mains exam include General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Reasoning Ability, Professional Knowledge, Insurance and Financial Market Awareness and English language consisting of a letter and essay writing.

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Direction Test, Analytical Reasoning, Seating Arrangements, Puzzles, Logical Reasoning, Input and Output, Syllogism, Machine Input-Output, Alphabet and Number Series, Statement, Arguments, Conclusion, Order and Ranking, Blood Relations, Alpha Numeric Symbol Series and Inequalities.

Profit and Loss, Average,  Problems on Ages, Quadratic Equations, Simplification, Probability, Ratio and Proportion, Simple and Compound Interest, Data Sufficiency, Mixture and Allegations, Permutation and Combination, Cistern and Pipe, Work and Time, HCF AND LCM, Surds and Indices, Data Interpretation, Partnership, Boats and Streams, Speed, Distance and Time and Approximation.

Active and Passive Voice, Singular and Plural, Parts of Speech, Direct and Indirect Speech, Comprehension, Idioms and Phrases, Passage Completion, Para-jumbles, Sentence Improvement, Cloze Test, Detection of Errors, Vocabulary Based Questions, Word Usage, Subject-Verb Agreement, Fillers, Phrase or Connector, Antonyms and Synonyms and Correction of Errors.

 

Mains Syllabus

The Reasoning Ability syllabus for the mains exam is the same as the prelims though the level of difficulty is variable. The curriculum for the other topics is mentioned below.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs

Insurance and Financial Market Awareness 

English language

Indian Constitution, Environment Topics, Books and Authors, Sports News, Indian History, Indian and World’s Geography, Inventions and Discoveries, Important Days, Government Schemes, Awards and Honours, Indian Economy, Science and Technology, National and International Events, New Legislations, Person in News, Government Policies, Committee, Commissions and Reports and National and International Organizations.

Concept of Insurance, Historical Background of the Insurance sector in India, Latest Guidelines issued by the IRDA, National Legislations related to the Insurance sector, Current News relating the Insurance Sector and Important Financial Institutions. 

It includes Letter Writing, Essay Writing, Knowledge of Language, etc.

 

LIC AAO Selection Process

The selection process for the LIC AAO is conducted through three stages.

  • First Stage:LIC AAO Prelims Exam.

  • Second Stage: LIC AAO Main Exam

  • Third Stage: Interview Stage

The selection process is mainly regulated via these processes. 

  • Interested candidates should fill the application form on time and pay the fee. 

  • The call letters are generally available just a few days before the exams.

  • Candidates appearing for the Prelims exam need to perform well to sit for the Mains exam.

  • Aspirants will be selected for the interview round based on their efficiency in the mains exam. 

  • Candidates will be finally assigned for the AAO post based on their efficacy in the interview stage. The list of hired candidates shall appear on the website of LIC.

Yes, just like other competitive entrances, LIC AAO provides the upper age relaxation facilities to the reserved category candidates. For SC and ST seekers, the figures are five years. For OBC aspirants, the age relaxation is three years.

When will the LIC AAO exam take place in 2020?

The authorities haven’t decided anything yet for the 2020 selection process. A tentative schedule is out. However, candidates are still waiting for the final dates to pop up.

Is there any mark deduction in the LIC AAO exam?

No, there is no mark deduction rule in the LIC AAO exam process. However, the Candidates should be well prepared for the test. They should not deliver answers just through guess.
