CBSE Overview

CBSE stands for Central Board of Secondary Education and it is a national level education board in India that controls and manages the public and private schools. CBSE is directly regulated by the Union Government of India. There are almost 20,299 schools in India and 220 schools in 28 foreign countries which affiliated to the CBSE. CBSE Exam Calendar

CBSE releases an official notification every year with respect to details regarding the recruitment exam like a number of posts for which the hiring is done, online application date and exam dates. For 2020 recruitment, the notification was released on 29th July 2020 on the official CBSE portal.

CBSE Exam Dates

The online application window for CBSE recruitment exam was open from 31st July 2020 to 21st August 2020.

The online examination date for 2020 has not been notified yet.

Vacancy for CBSE Exam

Total number of vacancies are decided by the recruiting authority based on the number of candidates to be hired for deputation on varied posts. The vacancies for 2020 recruitment exam were 20 which are bifurcated as follows:

Joint Secretary-2

Internal Auditor and Financial Advisor-1

Assistant Secretary-1

CBSE Exam Eligibility

The official notification specifies the eligibility criteria with respect to age, educational qualification and work experience. A candidate should check whether he abides by the eligibility norms, before filling up the examination form.

  1. Age: The maximum age limit to apply for CBSE recruitment exam for varied posts is 56 years.

  2. Educational Qualification

  1. Joint Secretary: Candidate must have a graduation degree.

  2. Internal Auditor and Financial Advisor: Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with Economics/Commerce/Accounts or 
    MBA degree/CA/ICWAI.

  3. Assistant Secretary:  Candidate must have a degree in Law.

  4. Accounts Officer: Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with Economics/Commerce/Accounts or MBA degree/CA/ICWAI.

  5. Junior Accounts Officer: Candidate must have a graduation degree in account/economic or commerce.

  6. Senior Accounts Officer: Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with Economics/Commerce/Accounts or MBA degree/CA/ICWAI.

  1. Work Experience: 

  1. Joint Secretary: Candidate must have experience in Examination/ Policy Planning/ Administration including general administration/ /accounts/ court / legal.

  2. Internal Auditor and Financial Advisor: Candidate must have experience in handling administrative and financial budgets.

  3. Assistant Secretary: Candidate must have hands-on experience in handling legal matters.

  4. Accounts Officer: Candidate must have basic knowledge of accounts and budgets.

  5. Junior Accounts Officer: Candidate must have at least five years of experience of being an accountant.

  6. Senior Accounts Officer: Candidate must have 5-8 years of experience as an accountant.

  2. Interview and Skill Test

 The syllabus for CBSE recruitment exam generally does not change every year and it comprises of the following subjects:

  • General knowledge and Current Affairs

  • Reasoning and Mathematical ability

  • General Hindi and English

  • Computer knowledge
