WBSEDCL Assistant Engineer Exam Eligibility
Nationality
Must be an Indian citizen.
Age
- Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years as of 01.01.2018 for the post.
- Relaxation in the upper age limit of 3 Years for OBC (A) & OBC (B) candidates of West Bengal only.
- Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 Years for SC & ST candidates of West Bengal only.
- Candidates applying under the category reserved for Persons with Disabilities are entitled to a relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit for all the posts.
- Candidates belonging to the category of SC, ST, and OBC from States other than West Bengal will be treated under the Unreserved category. Such candidates will not enjoy any other relaxation in terms of application fee, age, and qualifying marks criteria during the selection process.

Assistant Engineer (Civil) | B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) Degree (including candidates who have joined the course through lateral entry) in Civil Engineering/ Construction Engineering from any Institute approved by AICTE/IITs. |
Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) | B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) Degree (including candidates who have joined the course through lateral entry) in Mechanical Engineering from any recognized Institute approved by AICTE/IITs. |
Assistant Engineer (IT&C) | B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) Degree (including candidates who have joined the course through lateral entry) in Information Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication / M.Sc (Computer Science) / MCA / B.Sc (Hons) with B.Tech (3 Years’ duration) in Computer Science and Engineering from any Institute approved by AICTE/IITs. |
WBSEDCL Assistant Engineer Exam Selection Process
The selection process will comprise the following:-
Candidates will have to essentially qualify in the GATE-2019 examination. In addition, candidates will have to appear for Personal Interview.
Only the GATE-2019 score is valid for this recruitment exercise in WBSEDCL under this notification. The score from GATE-2018 or from any previous GATE examination is not valid.
Final Merit List of eligible candidates will be prepared based on the combined performance in GATE2019 and Personal Interview process.
