The Staff Selection Commission examination is one of the leading competitive examinations in India. Every year, lakhs of aspirants appear in the SSC exams intending to get placed on different official staff ranks among distinct government offices.

The syllabus for the SSC examination is vast like a spectrum. Logical reasoning is an important part of the SSC exam and most of the aspirants face problems in having a good grip over it. The subject deals with the study of different kinds of problems and drawing the right conclusion.

Generally, people appearing for the SSC exam face problems with logical reasoning due to poor reasoning skills. This takes a toll on their marks and the candidates fail to secure the required marks to clear the examination.

Here are some of the most important tips for SSC candidates to enhance their reasoning skills.

Fragmentise the syllabus according to the type of the problem
All SSC candidates need to understand the problems and write the answers accurately. They need to break the reasoning problems according to the type. This will help them to take an easier and more effective approach towards solving the problems. Moreover, candidates should also keep in mind the role of time management and accuracy.

Candidates should break the problems in three main sections like word logic sequence, coding and decoding, and compilation. This will help in knowing strengths and weaknesses regarding different types of questions.

Prepare solved questions
To ensure scoring excellent marks in SSC logical reasoning, candidates should always prepare the solved questions. This is the primary method to enhance reasoning skills. Firstly, candidates need to make sure to understand the problem properly and then work on the solutions.

Solved SSC papers are available both online and offline. Candidates should give enough time to each question during the preparation days to form a good grip over different types of problems. Continuous practice is the only way to build confidence in different types of reasoning problems and improving skills.

Participating in debates
SSC candidates must participate in various debates as it leads to the improvement of reasoning skills. It provides the candidates with the opportunity to face firm arguments and take their stand for or against a particular matter.

Regular debating enhances the decision-making skill among the students, which is vital for excelling in logical reasoning. Regular debating also helps in improving IQ and mental ability.

Improve critical thinking
Critical thinking is essential for drawing the right conclusion in the case of problems that involve logical thinking. With good critical thinking abilities, candidates can form new ideas in their minds and solve different types of questions with ease. As an SSC candidate, you should solve word search, puzzles, and sudoku regularly.

Puzzles can improve the skill of determining different shapes and analyse their positions. Word search, on the other hand, can help you improve your vocabulary. Moreover, sudoku helps the brain in enhancing calculating abilities.

Always remember that the process of improvement of critical thinking is gradual and it takes a good amount of time to come to fruition.

Indulge in creative activities
Creative activities not only help in relaxing the brain but also in improving the level of logical thinking. Activities like writing, painting, or playing a musical instrument improve the ability to new formulate ideas with much ease,

While writing helps in making a storyline, painting, on the other hand, gives exposure to different patterns and designs. Furthermore, playing a musical instrument requires good hand-eye coordination, which enhances the functioning of the brain.

Creative activities force the brain to think. However, as an SSC student, you must know how to implement these ideas while solving the logical reasoning problems in the SSC paper.

Conclusion
Every SSC candidate who faces problems with logical reasoning should primarily handle it calmly as taking stress regarding any examination will only lead to anxiety and develop reluctance towards the same.

While solving the logical reasoning problems from different study materials, candidates must restrict themselves from looking at the answers. Besides, candidates should try to cover different streams like literature and science to solve problems that need critical thinking. Lastly, remember that accuracy plays a significant role in answering the problems of logical thinking in the SSC examination. Hence, Solving problems in just the right amount of time and with high accuracy will only yield good results.
