Patna High Court Stenographer Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
The applicant must possess the following essential educational qualification/Computer Qualification for the post of Stenographer as on 01st January 2023 :
(i) Intermediate (12th Passed) from a recognized Board/ University; and
(ii) Certificate of English Shorthand and English Typing from a recognized institution; and
(iii) Diploma/ Certificate of at least six month’s Course in Computer Application from a recognized institution; and
(iv) Minimum speed of 80 words per minute in English shorthand; and
(v) Minimum speed of 40 words per minute in English Typing.
Preferential Qualification:- A candidate – (i) who has served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years, or
(ii) who has obtained a ‘B’ certificate of the National Cadet Corps shall, other things being equal, be given preference in the matter of direct recruitment to the establishment at the time of interview.
Age Limit (as on 15/04/2023)
A candidate for direct recruitment to the post of Stenographer must not be below 18 years of age as on the 1st January, 2023 i.e. a candidate must not be born later than 01.01.2005.

Stenographer (Group-C Post)” in Level 4 (₹25500/- to ₹81100/-) of pay matrix of 7th PRC plus usual allowances as admissible.
Selection Process
(i) Written Test:- Multiple Choice Question-Based Objective test followed by English shorthand-computer typing test with a speed of 80 words per minute for 320 words only, i.e. at the rate of 80 w.p.m. for 4 minutes and 15 minutes for its transcription along with 7 minutes for revision of shorthand immediately after dictation and English Typing test with speed of 40 words per minute.
(ii) Interview.
